Edwards Lifesciences in the past used a machine to despool and cut tubing that is used in 80% of their products. The original machine required an employee to manually remove the tubing from the spool for cutting.

Cutting Edge Automation made a new Automated Tube Cutter, which allows the tubing to be cut to the right lengths and measurements without requiring an employee to despool the tubing. The new process will save the company $32,000 annually.
