Orthotic Shaping Station

Sponsor: Iterations

Team: Sole Orthotic Solutions

Coach: Ken Hardman

Students: Eric Radford, Keith Stolworthy, Tyson Tripplett, Caleb Waugh, Jon Woahn

Sole Orthotics designed a workstation capable of producing a custom foot orthotic in less than 30 minutes- a dramatic improvement over current methods that can take weeks to complete. The workstation creates a 3-D digital image of a patient's foot, it then uses a computer controlled pin station to create the foot profile. This allows the operator to form an orthotic on the spot. The new process is faster and provides the same level of accuracy as the traditional method.
