Modular Solutions bettered an already existing planar array antenna created by L-3 Communications Systems West, used for military purposes. The problem that L-3 Communications found was that if they needed to take apart an antenna and reconstruct it, the old antenna had to match up perfectly with other parts, which took months to reconstruct.

The new modular Dovetail design antenna allows for disassembly of the antenna and easy reconstruction. The new block design will allow reconstruction in hours instead of months.
