Water Bottle to Plastic Pallet

Sponsor: Nestle USA

Team: Pallet Engineering Technologies

Coach: Terri Bateman

Students: Jason Bradford, Daniel Carlson, Kellen Moulton, Dallin Murray, Andreah Tedjamulia

Team Pallet Engineering Technologies designed a new type of shipping pallet for Nestle USA. The pallet was from Nestle's waste plastic.

The new pallet is completely compatible with all racking systems in grocery distribution centers, including automated storage and retrieval systems.

It includes a four-way entry and is designed to withstand abuse due to errant forklift driving. The pallet can support loads up to 2,800 lbs.

Within the first four years of production the pallet should save Nestle USA about $1.5 million.
